The experience

There is no single universal experience with ketamine; everyone has a different response. In the  doses given at Catalyst Ketamine, most people simply drift into a comfortable, relaxed state, still conscious, and able to interact with their environment. Others  fall into a twilight sleep, half awake, half unconscious, sometimes dreaming. Still others experience a dissociative state, occasionally described as floating on air, or have an out of body experience. In some cases, the experience may take on a mystical or spiritual quality. Ketamine is a hallucinogen, and in some case, psychedelic effects are experienced. Colors become vivid. Time may speed up or slow down. Reality may seem altered. Some people may find this unsettling. In all cases, a trained specialist will be immediately available to stop the infusion or give other drugs to counteract its effects, as necessary. In the vast majority of treatment sessions, patients find the treatments pleasant, entrancing, and rejuvenating.
